Noodler’s Boston Safety Pen – 13001 – Black

The Boston Safety Pen is a unique pen in that it can be used with a wide variety of inks besides traditional fountain pen ink. The nib and feed are submerged in the ink reservoir when the nib is retracted, allowing a better supply of ink for the semi-flex nib and preventing hard starts or dried nibs.

We do not consider this a “beginner’s” pen. It is a utility pen that serves a purpose in a situation that most pen users won’t find themselves in, but is an interesting pen with a history worth researching. It DOES deserve a place in any collection, especially if you like quirky pens. It has to be uncapped and capped with the cap pointed toward the sky in order to prevent ink from pouring out of the reservoir. There. You’ve been warned! 🙂
